Icon Auge

Company history

Foundation

RTT Robotertechnik-TRANSFER GmbH was founded in 1990 out of the four-man research group "Robot-assisted machining technology" at the Zittau University of Technology. Since the early beginnings, our main concern has been to make our customers' production processes more effective and to improve them through specially designed solutions. With 30 years of experience in the field of special machine construction, we continue to develop new, individual solutions for a wide range of customer-specific manufacturing and handling tasks, which are in demand from numerous industries.

1990

Laying of the foundation stone for subsidiary

The company's second line of business also developed out of a special machine. The sorting system for plastics installed at the Fehr company in Borken in 1995 laid the foundation for the subsidiary: RTT Systemtechnik GmbH.

1995

Foundation of subsidiary

The subsidiary "RTT Systemtechnik GmbH" (today "STEINERT UniSort GmbH") was founded in 1998 specifically for the purpose of developing and manufacturing sorting equipment for waste management and has since made an important contribution to the sustainable development of both the company and our environment.

1998

New construction in Zittau's Weinau III industrial estate

The favourable market positioning of RTT Systemtechnik GmbH and the innovative potential of RTT Robotertechnik-TRANSFER GmbH created a solid basis for the group of companies, so that the managing director and the economic development agency finally decided to build a new building with modern assembly halls and offices in the Weinau III industrial estate in Zittau. The 15 employees moved into the new building in time for the company's 10th anniversary in 2000.

2000

Extension

Under the UniSort® umbrella brand, a variety of different systems were developed for sorting industrial and packaging waste, for the processing of substitute fuels and for the production of recyclates. Favoured by the worldwide increase in interest in resource and environmental protection, numerous UniSort® systems were put into operation over the years and an international customer base was quickly built up. As the number of employees and projects increased steadily, a neighbouring hall was purchased in 2004 and attached to the building. Space was created for the company's own technical centre. Realistic tests can be carried out here to evaluate the process feasibility of customer enquiries in advance.

2004

Kooperation

In order to further expand and consolidate the now considerable market share in the field of sorting technology, it was decided in September 2009 to partially sell shares in the subsidiary RTT Systemtechnik GmbH to the company Steinert Elektromagnetbau GmbH in Cologne. The new alliance made it possible to offer a comprehensive product range worldwide, consisting of near-infrared technology for plastics and paper separation as well as other sensor-controlled separation and magnet technology for the field of metal and mineral separation. To show this cooperation to the outside world, RTT Systemtechnik GmbH was renamed and now traded as STEINERT UniSort GmbH.

2009

Disaggregation

For the purpose of targeted concentration on special future-oriented markets, series-production-capable device technologies have repeatedly been spun off from the customised special machine construction of RTT Robotertechnik-TRANSER GmbH. While STEINERT Unisort GmbH specialises exclusively in the field of waste recovery and recycling management, RTT System GmbH, founded in 2010, is dedicated to the numerous analysis and detection tasks outside the sorting equipment sector. After the new development and multiple installation of bulk take-back machines for beverage packaging, RTT System GmbH developed a new family of devices for the qualification control and material analysis of small bulk materials. This product line offers the possibility to classify a wide variety of materials characterised by their colour and material properties.

2010

New construction of production hall and office building

Over the past 26 years, the innovative group of companies has grown steadily, so that the building complex erected 16 years earlier no longer had enough space for the 66 employees and project diversity of all three companies. Therefore, the groundbreaking ceremony for our neighbouring new building took place on 17 May 2016. A new production hall with a three-storey office building was built.

2016

Moving into a new place of work

In the summer of 2017, the employees of RTT Robotertechnik-TRANSFER GmbH and RTT System GmbH moved into their new premises, so that STEINERT UniSort GmbH has since been able to make full use of the existing building.

2017

30-year company anniversary

In 2020, we celebrated our 30th company anniversary in June (unfortunately only on a very small scale due to corona). Our team, which today consists of a total of 52 motivated and committed employees, continues to work closely with the affiliated company STEINERT UniSort GmbH. In this way, the synergy effects at the site can be optimally bundled through the interaction of a total of over 100 engineers, technicians and skilled workers. In close cooperation with the Zittau-Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, we also continuously support numerous students and junior staff.

2020

Purchase of a new building

The course is set for the future - another building at Hirschfelder Ring 26 has been acquired and will be renovated in the coming months.
